I’m definitely looking forward to doing classes again! Seeing my friends again is also a big plus and I’m also so ready to try and find new shortcuts or secrets in the hallways of the castle, either alone or with my friends. The sorting ceremony is the best part of the Welcoming Feast because it’s really adorable to see all the new little firsties and seeing how excited and amazed they are. It’s so fun to remember when I was a first year and feeling the same emotions. The food though is very good and is in second place as a favorite. Being introduced to the new professors is cool as well because it’s exciting to know if there are new classes being offered that I can take.

Hogwarts Express Discussion (Week 3)
Anne-Marie Gagne replied to Lorainia Riverrider's topic in Platform 9¾ Trivia Trek
I would sit in a compartment near the front of the train so it’s quicker to get off the train when we reach the school. I also think it would be a lot quieter up front since most kids would want to sit in the back of the train like kids would on buses. I would sit with my friends from other houses to spend as much time together as we could before school gets started. I’d buy so many Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pasties, and Cauldron Cakes. Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans will be avoided at all costs. I’m not risking getting a yucky bean. The only strange thing that happens on this ride is someone’s frog getting loose. Firsties always end up letting them loose on accident. -
Platform 9¾ Discussion (Week 2)
Anne-Marie Gagne replied to Janne Halla's topic in Platform 9¾ Trivia Trek
I think JKR chose a train station as the starting point for the Hogwarts journey because trains are really the only mode of transportation to allow all the students to get to the school all at once. It allows students to be able to see their friends after the summer break and have some time to spend together before being swamped with school work. I think that the platform has a muggle repelling spell on the muggle side so that the muggles don’t notice the people going into the wall. With train stations being so busy, especially in the morning, I’m sure that it's entirely plausible that people seeing someone there and then gone the next second would attribute it to just losing them in the crowd or assuming they got on a train already. I will say with technology getting better and better, I’m not 100% sure that they would be able to use the muggle entrance forever. Someone will eventually notice something is up with that part. -
Diagon Alley Discussion (Week 1)
Anne-Marie Gagne replied to Prof. Sky Alton's topic in Platform 9¾ Trivia Trek
Going to Diagon Alley I would first hit up Flourish and Blotts. I’d honestly probably spend most of the day there. I love getting new books to most likely end up on a bookshelf instead of being read right away. I would most likely go to the Leaky Cauldron to have lunch but I’d also like to stop at Fortescue’s for some ice cream and treat myself to new ice cream flavors. My curiosity wouldn’t allow me not to try and get into Knockturn Alley to see what’s down there. I’d be on alert the whole time but I’d like to see what’s being sold there. -
One of my favorite card games to play is called Speed. I was taught how to play by a few of my classmates when I was 14 near the end of 8th grade. It was during the last week of school where the teachers were really just letting us do whatever in class and our homeroom teacher played Michael Jackson music videos on the projector and we played games. I also taught my family how to play but because I’m so quick with placing the cards down, most of them refuse to play with me anymore and so I just mostly stick to different solitaire games by myself haha.
