Task 1: The Annual Broom Race
Katherine Laurier replied to Prof. Sky Alton's topic in Exploding Snap
Welcome back, folks, to the event you've all been waiting for - Broom Race 2024! For this year, our competing participants are Silva of Brazil and, back again for another round, we have O'Brien from Ireland. We are in for a wild ride today, there is no doubt about that! Our competitors will soar through the skies over interesting places, battling the wind and showing off some daring maneuvers throughout the 300-mile course! Looks like Silva is off to a strong start, twisting and turning throughout the first part of the course. But woah, a risky move from O'Brien as he attempts to catch up! This is some close competition. Now, hold onto your hats, folks; things are about to get heated! Quite literally, as the competitors have now reached the dragon reserve. They're soaring through impressively, and oh my-- what a nice save from Silva, narrowly avoiding a young Hungarian Horntail! It's a nail-biter, folks! Who will cross the finish line first? Keep listening to find out! -

1. The fourth floor used to be much bigger with more rooms. However, a portion of it became haunted with spirits of those who passed after the global wizarding war and they eventually went insane, which is why it has been blocked off and no one knows about it. 2. A portrait on the 6th floor is usually overlooked as it shows the image of a sleeping young girl. Because of this, hardly anyone has noticed how she recites the whole 'Hogwarts, a History' book in her sleep. 3. A wish is guaranteed to come true if you wish on it while breakdancing in the Astronomy Tower with your wand five centimeters beside the blue telescope. Why this works, we will never know... And how I know, well, we will also never know... 4. The Hogwarts founders have a whole floor with lots of fun for their ghosts to stay, but they enchanted it to make it so that no one else can ever see it or go to it besides them. Imagine all the parties they have up there!

Ah, one of the things I have done that I am most proud of was the duel in the Ministry Atrium against Lord Voldemort himself in 1996. Looking back on this, I am quite pleased at my success, and I would do it again but with even smarter decisions and stronger spells. This was when I challenged Voldemort to a duel, and I was determined to defeat him once and for all. I cast powerful spells against him and blocked his spells with shields or by casting a spell right back at him before his spells could get me. Though he didn't decease, he cowardly disapparated and escaped when I cast one of the strongest spells I've ever casted. Another win of the great Gilderoy Lockhart!

It was early evening. I was having a fan signing event for all my fabulous fans. Obviously, the big room was packed with people, so many people lining up for me! There were so many smiles and claps and laughs for my charming smiles and jokes. It was a happy time until suddenly, a Tebo broke in! There were loud screams, but I stayed calm as I immediately thought of a way to defeat this beast. I wanted my fans to be safe, so I yelled, "Everyone, evacuate! I will handle this!" I took out my wand and it ran around the room, becoming invisible every few seconds. I used my intelligence and my wit to predict where it would be going next and with precision and exactness, I casted Incarcerous on the nasty creature, and it wailed as ropes shot out of my wand and strangled it. My fans, watching from afar, were clearly so amazed at my skills at handling such a dangerous thing, but it was really nothing bad, and of course, anything for my dear fans.

My look is inspired by Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Not only is she a really interesting character, her costume is pretty easy to whip up. I'm wearing a blue, puffy dress and a small apron with a white, silky ribbon on the back. I put on a wig with a light, glowing blonde color just like Alice's in the story. Can't forget the most important part - jewelry and accessories! I add some small final touches and details, put a black headband on, a heart necklace just because, long socks and black shoes, then I get ready to go!

Anything by Taylor Swift. ;) I mostly read romance books so a lot of the time while reading, in the background, there's romance songs by Taylor Swift that have good, calm vibes that are soft and make you feel what the song makes you feel and at the same time still be able to focus on the book. Here's my playlist: 1. You Are In Love by Taylor Swift - This is almost ALWAYS on repeat for me in the background when I'm reading romance books where they are pining for each other without knowing the other is pining for them. 2. When Emma Falls In Love by Taylor Swift - It talks about the way a girl feels when she falls in love, and it's just perfect paired with a romance book. 3. New Year's Day by Taylor Swift - It talks about holding onto the memories you've made with someone and it's such a cute song for a peaceful scene. 4. the lakes by Taylor Swift - It has really old-timey vibes and it talks about being with your loved one as a famous person without anyone tweeting or talking about it. 5. cowboy like me by Taylor Swift - It's a really soft song about love that's super calm and also has incredibly good lyricism.
