Welcome to Gryffindor, Vee! It's great to have you here. I'd start off with HOL 101 as it really will tell you just about everything you need to know to get you started. Madam Pince's Board here on the CR has an entire thread devoted to updating you about what's going on around the castle so that's another good place to look if you're after things to do that will also earn you house points.
