Task 7: Wizarding Weather Reports

Recommended Posts

I’ve always wondered what weather reports are like in the wizarding world…

Are their safety advisories about broom flying, updates on conditions for stargazing  or tips for gathering certain potion ingredients during ideal conditions? Let’s find out!

For this task, you have 2 options:

A.       Create a transcript of a weather report from the Wizarding Wireless Network. It should be at least 100 words for full credit.

B.       Create a magical weather map. Remember to lean into the wizarding world angle with the symbols and labels you choose. Please keep your image to 600x600 pixels and upload it to an image hosting website, then share the link.

Post your response below by 23:59 HOL-time on the 30th of April to earn 10 rubies!

Reporter: Good evening, and welcome everyone, I'm James Roycewell and this is the Wizarding Wireless Network: Weather Prophecy. Now, let's have a look at what we can expect across the British Isles for tomorrow.

We're in for a curious mix of conditions, folks. Areas in the north of Scotland should expect some lingering blizzards, with possible downpours later in the evening. Keep an umbrella and some Frostbite Wax handy if you're up that way.

For our central regions, it appears a heavy rain and potentially a storm are brewing. These warm rain showers are said to possess restorative properties, so don't shy away from stepping outside and letting the healing showers make you feel better.

So for those living up north or in the central regions, I suggest you plan your Quidditch matches, Broom racing competitions and open-roof parties accordingly.

Meanwhile, down south in places like Cornwall and Devon, we're expecting a gloriously sunny day with a small possibility of drizzle. Just a heads-up for those attending important meetings or Ministry hearings!

That's all for tonight, folks. For more detailed forecasts and localized weather warnings, stay tuned to the Wizarding Wireless Network. And remember, if you're ever caught in a particularly nasty downpour with no way of finding shelter, a simple Cheering Charm followed by Vermillious, can often do the trick!

Meteorologist: Good afternoon, wizards and witches! We'll look at the weather forecast for the next three days.

On Tuesday, there is a chance of rain totaling an inch and a half. The great news, however, is that we have gotten word that the Quidditch matchup between rivals Lancashire and Cork will continue as scheduled, rain or shine!

On Wednesday, expect cloudy conditions, with parts of London being particularly foggy from noon to 8 PM due to the use of the fogging spell Nebulus to help conceal the important meeting discussed earlier on the Wizarding Wireless Network.

Finally, on Thursday, you can expect clear skies, likely giving you a nice view of the shooting stars set to happen that night!

This has been your three-day weather forecast. Have a good rest of your day!

Meteorologist: good evening folks, this is Riley Colett from wizarding wireless network. Here to bring you tomorrow's forecast.

And it's not good news folks. For tomorrow quidditch match we can expect, dark skies, heavy rain and a bit of a breeze.

It's going to be a wet one folk, make sure to keep yourself dry using the impervius charm.

Good news is that temperatures should reach around 18 degrees. So wet but warm.

More good news is the rain and wind should clear around late afternoon, to leave clear skies. Which is good news for all the people planing any celebration parties. And also for the shooting stars coming our way.

Temperatures should go down to about 12 degrees so a mild night ahead of us.

That's all folks, enjoy the rest of the evening.

Hey folks, it's Larry Weatherman here with your daily weather broadcast.

Whilst the temperature will be dropping overnight, the skies should remain clear - no rain or fog are expected, so if you do see any mists, stay clear, as there's likely some dementors nearby.

Tomorrows national Quidditch league final seems to be set on a perfect day, with the winds keeping low but the temperature staying low enough to keep our players cool in the skies. They may see a little drizzle, but we know our teams, and I'm sure that won't stop them.

Up in the northern parts of Scotland, there may be even more rain than normal, so please take care if you choose to use the weekend for garden de-gnoming.
