  1. Sky smiles at Manya and Hannah, then ruefully glances at her robes. "It does rather look that way, doesn't it?" she asks. She cranes her neck to see the misbehaving students Hannah was talking about and gives them a glare to rival a basilisk's. "That's a few more for detention then...."
  2. I always quite liked the idea of working in the Department of International Magical Cooperation. I know it seems really dull based on what we read in the books but I honestly think it would be fascinating being able to interact with wizards from all over the world. I also seem to be quite good at mediating between different people and helping them find compromises so I think I'd make a good diplomat. I'd also love working in the Muggle Worthy Excuse Committee because I'm great at making up stories and responding to crises. No, that wasn't a real half eagle, half horse wandering along the side of the road in Chiswick, it was someone who'd tried to hire a pantomime horse and been the victim of a terrible mix up at the costume shop. Duh. Of course, working at Hogwarts isn't half bad.... ;)
  3. Sky gives him a look that says it may well be 13 people in detention if he continues being a smart alec. "I'm just fine, thank you," she says, wrinkling her nose and using her wand to syphon off the worst of the dust. "I'll see those 12 in my office once we're done here. I need more fertiliser in the greenhouses. They can go gather me some in the Care of Magical Creatures paddock." She peers over his shoulder at the running list he's keeping of people's discoveries. "Anything interesting? Any fabulous jewels or cursed hats yet?"
  4. Sky emerges out of a distant corner, her robes covered in dust and a long piece of parchment trailing behind her. She's been cataloguing items (and sneezing) all day and she's just about ready to call it quits. "Any problems?" she asks Maxim, coming to lean on the wall beside him and wiping her brow. "I've found 750 fanged Frisbees, half a stuffed troll and 6 ever-bashing boomerangs. Which, incidentally, is a misnomer. They are definitely no longer bashing. One was twitching a bit...."
  5. May is upon us! And it's flying by already. Luckily, it brings with it a whole crop of point earning opportunities. It's a great idea to make the most of them now so you don't miss out on things in the end of year scramble to get everything turned in on time. Let's make sure your personal point totals and Gryffindor's all important hourglass look as great as possible come June! First up, there's your usual reminder to check out the Departments. The Art Department are looking back (at your memories of this year at Hogwarts) and forward (to your plans for the summer). The Library are exploring the consequences of promises (those you keep and those you break) and featuring wizards who decide to go into muggle careers. Deadline: 31st May Note: June Department projects will be arriving early and will have an earlier deadline than usual so that all points can be awarded before the end of the school year. Make sure you don't get caught out by that! in addition to the newspapers I told you about last time (Wizarding Times due on the 23rd of May and SerpenTimes on the 15th of June), two more have opened up for submissions! Alte Sententiam, Ravenclaws fine feathered publication, is due first. They'd like to see your drabbles and photography relating to this issue's theme of 'the moon'. There's also Creative Writing Bingo for those of you who love to tell stories. You can find details of these in The Great Hall over on the main HOL Forum. If you'd like to submit an article, puzzle or graphic, just drop Gail Allen a message. There's 90 points available! Deadline: 31st May And not forgetting our very own Paw Print. Come and take a walk on the wild side with us with our theme of 'Wild and Free'. Whether you'd like to submit an article, a recipe, a craft, a puzzle, a graphic or something else, I'm sure we can find a home for it. Check out Prose and Cons while you're at it: there are images to caption, lists to make and things to write. Another sparkling 90 points are yours for the earning. Deadline: June 20th
  6. I slap Kaissa for getting involved in so much around the castle.
  7. I slap Silvana for already turning in her Prose and Cons. Great job!
  8. Help us finish off the year in style by submitting to the Paw Print (and snag a few last minute points as well). Everything for our 'wild and free' issue is due at 11:59 PM HOL-time on June 20th.
