  1. Can I grab: 30. The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart
  2. As it’s almost October, this is great practice for my Halloween costume! This year, my boyfriend and I are going as Raven and Beast Boy from Teen Titans. To be Raven, I would need to get a purple wig, a black leotard and a purple cape. I want to add black stockings and black boots as well as creating the gold and red belt she has. I am most excited for the jewelry involved. I would get a necklace and earring set that would match the belt as well as find a gem for my forehead.
  3. This is five from my actual reading playlist! I tend to listen to mostly classical to create a mood as well as not distract myself with lyrics. Gymnopedie No. 1 (Erik Satie) – a minimalist, abstract piano piece perfect for reading by the window on rainy days Je te laisserai des mots (Patrick Watson) – a song that reminds me of dancing in ballrooms, spinning so fast you almost can’t catch your breath. A favorite to listen to when reading a book with tension/angst between the love interests. Experience (Ludovico Einaudi) – a song that feels like seeing colors for the first time, it oddly reminds me of the moment of The Giver where Jonas starts to see color! Or it reminds me what it’s like to realize you are free for the first time. Mariage d’Amour (Jacob’s Piano) – another favorite to listen to when the tension is high between love interests! It rings of longing and angst and misunderstanding. The Swan (Yo-Yo Ma) – a piano piece that evokes feelings of wonder, as if seeing something beautiful for the first time.
  4. Hiya! Can I grab: * 15. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster * 31. Coraline by Neil Gaiman * 73. Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp
  5. I adore book fairs. I think book fairs are such a safe space and I am SO excited to explore this one! I love collecting stationary, even though I have more than enough to last me however long I need, and now I get to have House specific stationery! I mull over a few options and ultimately decide to buy all of them. I know I’ll need parchment and paper for class so I grab some of that too. Now, on to bookmarks! I think bookmarks are so underrated and all good bookmarks need notebooks to go with them! I pick up notebooks of varying sizes for every possible scenario. I will need to practice my calligraphy before school starts, I’m sure so I decided to grab some quill and ink too. I am determined to be perfect. I sigh over how many books are here that I can’t bring home. I focus on the ones I need to class and then use my leftover money to buy magical fantasy books. I am excited to see the difference between magical fantasy and muggle fantasy. Alas, that appears to be all the time (and money) I have for now.
