House Awards and Badges!

We had some issues getting out our final awards last year, so a few of these are a bit... blended. Bear with us this month, and look for these to be more consistently awarded this year! :D

Consistent Cub Award - Given to the student who may not be top in points, but actively participates in classes, HOL projects, and house papers to consistently earn monthly points. This award is not based solely on class points, but an a myriad of other ways to earn points as well.

Congrats to Sydney Alexandra! Last year she was a force to be reckoned with, earning points right and left in classes, contests, and projects. This year she has a similar enthusiasm and we're excited to see her continue to earn points for our house!

Studious Simba - Given to a first year student who shows great promise with their point hoarding skills. Recipients do not have to be top in points, but they should be active in their classes, projects, contests and/or house papers.

This brand new award's first recipient is... Anneliese Lee! Congrats! Anneliese has already earned an astounding 463 points (as of this post) in just about every area possible. We're thrilled she's on the Gryffindor side! :D

Lively Lionet - Given to a first year Gryffindor who is vocal, active, encouraging and enthusiastic in the forums, irc, and/or in their HOL classes.

Another new award, and this one goes to Chadwick Cadet! Congrats! Chad has been phenomenal around the Gryffindor Common Room and on IRC. Always willing to chat and often seen encouraging others to get active and involved, her enthusiasm is contagious!

Golden Snitch Award - Given to a Gryffindor (2nd year and up) who is vocal, active, encouraging and enthusiastic in the forums, irc, and in their HOL classes.

Congrats to Lucy Greyback! Between last year and this year, Lucy's had her hand in so many areas of the Common Room, including dens, GQT, and many clubs. She's always trying to encourage her fellow students to earn points and we love all the energy she brings!

Nimbus 2000 Award - Given to the most helpful student. It is for students who are helpful in responding to questions with clearly thought out ideas. This can be based off of Common Room posts, as well as IRC activity.

And the winner is...Jade Packer! Congrats! Both last year and so far this year, Jade's been great about taking new students (particularly quidditch players) under her wing and really helping them shine. She has lots of experience to offer, and her positive attitue is inspiring~

Pride of the Pride -This is THE award for Gryffindor. It is the hardest to earn since the criteria for winning it is very high. Must be active in HOL and Gryffindor, be part of many clubs, usually only given if an extremely difficult task was done or for constant hard work keeping the house together. This award is never given more than once a year, and sometimes if nothing was deemed worthy enough, it can be not given for many years.

The absolute AMAZING Prof. Jenny Lupin has managed to snag this rather prestigious award. Though the reasons she deserves this one are just so obvious to those who know her, I have to give a small summary of what she does... Within Gryffindor, it feels like Jenny has her hand in everything. She runs a lot, and she runs it well, and Gryffindor has nothing but respect for Jenny. But more importantly, Jenny managed to capture the attention of all of HOL last term as she represented us, and won the Triwizard Tournament. We have many reasons to be proud of Jenny. She's working very hard for our house and our school, and if we could, we'd give her five of these awards.

Spice of the Month: Awarded to a deserving Spice Squad Member each month. This student has caught the eye of the co-captains of this month by participating, contributing, and/or helping significantly in an event.

This month the Spice Squad Captains chose to honor... Chadwick Cadet! The Captains wanted to acknowledge all the fantastic ideas and enthusiasm she's brought to the squad this year, so congrats!
