  1. The staff of the Gryffindor Paw Print would like to present issue #41 of the Gryffindor Paw Print!

    No way...<_<

Thank you so much to everyone who turned in Prose and Cons! Again, I died laughing over the captions. Best thing ever. Well, best thing for now. ;)

Also, thank you to our cameo writers. Very much appreciated.

Comments are always welcome! Thank you so much!

Clicky here for the issue! Gryff Paw Print #41

GRYFFINDORS! Prose and Cons will get you HOUSE POINTS.

  2. April Prose and Cons

    Reminder

    Lurking Lions Harassing Houses

There is one item of interest I would like to bring to the attention of HOL; students and staff. The Paw Print is going to be accepting 3-5 articles from students in houses outside of Gryffindor to be published in the paper.

Limit 2 articles per student, although I may accept 2 articles from one student if we have room. Each article is to be 500 words minimum, there is no max, well, I draw the max at 15,000 words. -coughSlootscough-

The writer of the article will receive 10 points.

If you are interested in submitting an article, OWL, PM, or message me with your article idea, or article if you already have it. I will need to approve the article first. The due date for the articles will be March 29th

    Prose and Cons

There are three section in Prose and Cons, with a chance to earn 10 points per sections, culminating in 30 points total.

    Poetry Challenge

For the poetry challenge, you are to write a piece pf poetry. Crazy, right?. It can be a haiku, tanka, free-write poem, or any form of poetry. Each haiku and tanka must be, at least, 2 stanzas long. A free-write poem needs to be, at least, 12 lines long. For this challenge, you are able to submit up to 2 entries, each worth 5 points. However, you do not have to turn in two separate pieces. You can turn in a 4 stanza haiku for 10 points, or a 10 stanza tanka, and so on. The choice choice is yours.

The theme for poetry is free reign. So, essentially, there is no theme. Send in whatever kind of poem you would like to and whichever subject your heart desires. HOL appropriate, of course.

    Story Challenge

For the Story Challenge…you are to write a story!

    NO WAY!

The story is to be a min. of 250 words (for 5 points) and 350-400 (for 10 points), must be spell checked and have proper grammar and punctuation.

The story's theme is...FREE REIGN! Noticing a pattern? Well, it ends here since captions can't really be free reign.

Again, write about whatever you would like to. Might be a little easier. ;)

    Caption Challenge

This is, by far, my most favorite challenge of Prose and Cons; the Caption Challenge. It's quite self-explanatory. Each caption is worth 5 points. All you need to do is think of something witty and appropriate for the pictures.

    How To Submit

Challenge Entries for Prose and Cons can be submitted to pandc@pahpulfirh.com.

You must put your HOL name, HOL ID, and House in the Subject Line. (Else I’d have to track you down and that takes forever.)

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message, or whatever, and I will respond promptly.

  3. Hello Gryffindors!

Allow me to officially welcome you to the new Spring term and hope that your holiday season was quite enjoyable.

    Now. Forget the formalities.

    HOUSE MEETING.

    Where: #Gryffhousemeeting

When: Sunday, the 14th at 4PM EST (9PM HOL)

WHY: ...CAUSE I SAID SO. And I have nomnom treats for you all!

Again, same as any meeting, I will be hosting what I fondly refer to as Humorous Hangman 45-30 minutes before the meeting. Trust me. It is worth coming to the meeting for the hangman. <_<

BE THERE...Or...or...I'll tell Edward you all love him. *shrugs*

    I tried

  4. HEAR YE, HEAR YE.

    <_<

There is a match this weekend as Spring term swings into action! New to HOL? Have NO idea what Quidditch is or how it works? Well, coming to the match on Saturday would be an excellent way to find out! Confused about IRC, CGI and everything else related to HOL...TAKE HOL 101! </plug>

Gryffindor and Slytherin will be duking it out for the golden snitch and that lovely, unforgiving quaffle!

When: This Saturday the 13th, 9PM HOL (4PM EST)

Where: #Quidditch or #grandstand - Grandstand is used for cheering, since non-players cannot speak during matches. It's not even a matter of trying. Hooray +m.

    BE THERE!

  5. And by the way hope it's alright if I ask here - that besides the Prose and Cons, can we write anything at all and send it over too?

Amanda, I'll send you a PM with the information about how you can write for the Paw Print. ^_^

And, yes, I have to admit...I don't read Ask Snape until the issue is released so I can have the full effect of it. I nearly died laughing. The captions were absolutely amazing, also. I was so amused.

  6. HOT OFF THE PRESS!

The Gryffindor Paw Print's newest issue has just hit shelves everywhere! Make sure you have your copy before they're all gone!

    Gryff Paw Print Issue #41

    Clicky!

NOTE: We know the font is difficult to read for this issue. There were some problems with the coloring at the last minute. If you hightlight it as you go, it should be okay. Thank you.

Thank you to my staff for doing an amazing job yet again. Also, thank you to everyone who submitted Prose and Cons. It is quite a large section this time! Make sure you keep a lookout for the next Prose and Cons post, which should be up in a few minutes. ;)

Also, if you are in another house and would like to write a cameo article for the Paw Print, all you need to do is drop me an owl and we can get you published!

Lastly, I truly appreciated all of the amazing captions. I was laughing for hours while getting them posted. You all are hysterical.

The theme of this challenge is...color. I know it’s simple, but the simple things in life can be some of the most wonderful things also. You can write about your favorite color, colors of things, colors in general! For a haiku, I would write…

    Daisies of yellow

Shining bright in the green grass

    Such simple beauty

    ADD ON!

  9. Oh, Lord. Not introductions.

I swear, I had like, 15 introductions in the old CR because the thread was so old and so long.

    Might as well begin again.

HI. I'm Zenix James. You can call me...Spanky. Not really, don't call me Spanky. Only Missa can call me Spanky. I'm...I guess I'm a professor, cause I'm not a prefect anymore. So, I can't really say that without being a false testament. I'M PROFESSOR JAMES. Way cool. I teach some classes...Go find them if you want to know what I teach! I've been around here for about 5 and a half years. Way too long.

In real life, I'm ALMOST...ALMOST 21. 10 day countdown until my birthday. SO EXCITED. I'm a criminal justice student at university. Gonna send some bad doods to jail. At least there are attorneys with a sense of humor still. >_>

Yeah, that's about it. I'm super glad the CR is back up and running. And, HELLO OTHER HOUSES!

  10. HOUSE MEETING TIME!

Happy New Year! Merry Christmas! Happy Arbor DayKwanza! Happy Hanukkah House! Uhm...YEAH.

We all hope you had a wonderful HOLiday season and drank lots of butterbeer. I know I did. <_< However! It's house meeting time, agaaaain.

    Where: #gryffhousemeeting

When THIS SUNDAY: 10th, at 4pm EST (9pm HOL)

    Why: Because it's awesome

For those of you who showed early last time and got to see my amazing ADHD Hangman skillz, we're gonna hold it again for this meeting. So, if you want to come play hangman and be elaborately entertained, show up about 30-45 minutes before the meeting!

    See you there!

  11. I just had the sudden thought...and, what do you all think? Would I be a horrible person to decapitate Frosty the Snowman? If "yes" is your answer. WATCH OUT, FROSTY, HERE I COME. >:D If no...You all need some meds, you psychopathic heathens!

Anyhoo! We all know the only reason why I make announcements. I know, I know, it's like, "Zenix, you should do it more, we all love your amazing FACE!" Yes, I know, but it needs time alone. My puppy just did a superman leap off the bed...silly puppy. I knew I should have named him Clark Kent...

    HOUSE MEETING TIME!

We will have this house meeting, or I will hunt all of you the few who can actually remembered to sign-up for the CR DOWN and force you to...to...disembowel a barrel of horned toads. -nods- Totally original torture. I did not jack that from anyone. Who's J.K. Rowling? O.O

    Where: #gryffhousemeeting

When THIS SUNDAY: 13th, at 4pm EST (9pm HOL)

    Why: Horned toads. 'nuff said.

If people show (HINT HINT), there will be HOLiday Hangman. I think I'll make it kind of a hint holiday hangman. -nods- But, yes, hangman 30-45 mins before.

    SEE YA THERE.
