  1. So many card and board games to name. We played many things with normal cards. Our favourite was always Uno, Clue/Cluedo and monopoly as it was games you could play over and over or the game can span a long time. We tended to deliberately “break” the monopoly rules and make our own for the fun of it and to let it last longer. I remember spending so much time to buy a nice fancy new deck of Uno cards for my brother. We (being, myself, my brother and my cousins) would always take normal cards and Uno cards with us over the holidays when visiting places or family and we would whip them out and sit on the ground around the tv room coffee table to play. We haven’t done that in a while and I must say I miss it thinking back now.

  2. “Welcome back to the Wizarding Wireless Network. I’m John West, your host and with me here is our flying expert Tim Otherworth joining us. Now Tim, as we are looking on, and from our cozy broadcasting booth might I add, at our annual Broom Race here in the Magical world of ours and an exciting Wizarding sports event, we catch up on some of the things that have been happening.”

“That’s right John! We have flyers and competitors from all around the world facing a brutal flying course with severe wind, rainfall, storms and cold weather conditions stretching across the beautiful skies of Sweden. Just earlier we had already had a delay on one of the courses as a flyer was almost caught by one of the dragons from the dragon reserve they were crossing over!”

“Oh! I can imagine those Swedish Short-Snouts being a little extra irritated today with the weather and so many flyers crossing their skies..”

  3. Surfing started in a place called Polynesia which is one of three major cultural areas of the Pacific Ocean islands, along with Melanesia and Micronesia. It is made up of more than 1000 islands scattered over the area known as the central and southern Pacific Ocean. It is theorized due to actual cave paintings found from the possible 12th Century, showing people riding on waves. It is estimated that the Polynesians brought surfing to Hawaii and it got popular as a sport, hobby and a big part of the Hawaii religion. Became popular worldwide from there. The Hawaiians practiced it in many ways for the religious ceremonies including the shaping of the surfboard. Surfing is considered as one of the newer sports to be added to the Olympics, being added first during the Tokyo Games in 2021.
