The first thing that came to mind was the game of bags, where teams throw bean bags into a circular slot on the opposing team's board, which is laying across from them on the ground propped up at a slight angle. In the wizarding version, instead of throwing, you could use a 'wingardium leviosa' on the bags and see how skilled you could be at controlling them to hover and fall into the slot. Either that, or you could make the boards themselves hover and move so that it would be more challenging to throw the bags into the slots. Or do both, why not?

Oh, gosh, where do I begin? I remember playing a lot of board games with family and friends when I was a kid. I think the two we played the most were Jenga and Battleship, at least with immediate family because they were simple enough strategy games to appeal to all ages. I loved to play Clue and Guess Who? with my friends for simpler games when a lot younger. When I got older, I played a lot of Scrabble with my family, as that was my grandmother's favorite game. When I wasn't playing traditional board games, I was beating everybody at Mario Party. I think I own every single one of them made until whichever number ended with the GameCube. I HAD to be Mario though. I just loved that it was so low-key fun but also sometimes very challenging and very competitive. Now I feel the overwhelming urge to go play all of these things!

My game piece is a purple treble clef with a black disc on the bottom to keep it steady/flat on the board. Ideally, I'd want it to be 3D/metal so it had a little bit of a shine to it. As many of you know, I am obsessed with purple and am also a flute player as my 'major' hobby. The treble clef represents the key signature that many musicians use to tell them what notes to play when reading music. (I did not draw that myself, Google helped.)

I agree with what's already been stated in that I think human beings are motivated by both competition and victory. They can build ego and make you feel good about yourself for sure! Competition can also look very different within games. I would generally say that I dislike competition because of fear of failure, but games can make competition fun and not so intimidating. When that Jenga tower falls over, I laugh instead of beating myself up for choosing a 'wrong' piece. I think another appeal to games is that they're made for all ages and they grow with you. When you're a kid and you play Clue, you perspective differs greatly from when you play as an adult. But those games are still fun for adults. There are memories and nostalgia attached to many games we play, and we just get a break to have some fun and relaxation. Games bring people together from all walks of life and create new friendships. There are so many different types of games that there is something for anyone and everyone to enjoy!
