The spring term is in full swing and there’s lots going on in Gryffindor tower and beyond. Have you signed up for classes this term?
There are several new and exciting ones on offer, as well as plenty of established favourites. Even if you can only take one or two, remember that every little helps in the race for the house cup. Speaking of the house cup, Gryffindor is absolutely knocking it out of the park this year. We have so many hard working lions contributing and having fun that I genuinely think we could make this our best year in over a decade. It’s no surprise that the Autumn term house awards saw many lions (and one eagle as Maxim of Ravenclaw once again earned the most rubies) congratulated for their hard work and spirit. Congratulations are also in order for Lorainia Riverrider, our new Junior Prefect. I’m sure she’s going to do great things for The Den!
Gryffindor Tower was infested by nifflers in February. The entire school rallied round to provide sparkly objects to tempt them with, write speeches appealing to their better nature, help us clear up the mess they made and to decide what to do with the left over treasure. We’d like to thank each and every HOLer who helped with our furry little problem (and if you are still missing something shiny, please contact a Gryffindor staffer).
We have lots of exciting things planned for the coming term so make sure you check in regularly to see what’s occurring. The Quidditch season will soon be starting back up – remember, if you’re a lion who’d like to play for the Gryffindor team, you can contact Prof. Jenny Lupin (no experience required). You should also pay a visit to the GQT chatroom (#gqt) for a spot of practice with our bots.
Remember you can also pay a visit to Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw who are always eager to entertain with fabulous ideas and discussions of their own. The clubs in the HOL forum and the Art and Library Departments are also going strong with prompts, puzzles and projects of every description. Whatever you feel like doing, you’re bound to find something to suit.
Here’s to another exciting term full of achievements and fun!
