With the holiday season upon us, the SPD staff thought it would be nice to have a den challenge that focused on the friendships and bonds we share as Gryffindors. And what better way to show you care about someone than to give them a specially made gift?! And so with that, the December Den Challenge Gift Exchange was born! Part 1: Your task this month is to create a special gift for each of the other two dens to showcasing how awesome they are and how much you care! Just a few notes/idea/ramblings: You must create at least one gift for each of the other two dens. The gifts do not have to be identical, meaning you can personalize them or add different parts for each den. We want these gifts to reflect your friendships, etc with the dens, so personalization is encouraged! Gifts can be personal, Gryffindor-ish, Holiday-themed, wacky and crazy... basically anything you can think of! (HOL appropriate, of course. ;) )You can create one big gift or have several smaller items together. The gifts can be anything from forum signatures to desktop wallpapers, pink fuzzy socks to a replica sword of Gryffindor. We just ask that you provide a image for each item you give. Obviously if it is a forum signature or something, the item itself is the image. But if you come up with something super creative, draw or paint or take a photo or in some other way provide us with an image of it! You are more than welcome to give additional individual gifts to specific den members, but the main part of the challenge is to give something to the whole den, so be sure to spend most of your time on that! Part 2: We'd like you to provide a story/background/commentary for your gifts! Why exactly are giving the Mighty Manticores pink sombreros? Or why did you choose to give the Chimeras a bubble blowing machine? And what about that red unicorn decked out in Gryffindor apparel for the Griffins? Just explain why you are giving the things you are giving! Again, be creative! If you want to include this part as a story, or as a poem attached to a gift, etc, go for it! We're leaving the details of this challenge pretty open, so let your creativity go wild! You must submit your gifts (in whatever way you wish to present them) and a list of participating members by PM to Prof. Jenny Lupin by 11:59 PM HOL (6:59 PM EST (I think)) on December 30th! (After Christmas in case people disappear to spend time with family.) Once we receive them we will post a big gift exchange post so that everyone can see the gifts opened! :D To encourage you to be creative and give the best gifts possible, the SPD will be voting and participating members will receive rubies as follows: First Place Den: 25 rubies Second Place Den: 15 rubies Third Place Den: 10 rubies Have fun!
