    Without further ado, we are bringing back the Prose & Cons section of the Paw Print!

    This is basically the Paw Print's house wide set of challenges that you can complete. Each month there are four challenges to complete - a caption contest, short story, poetry, and a graphic/art work challenge. Each challenge is worth 10 points, so you can earn up to 40 points if you complete all of this! (Right on time for your end of year points, and it's due after all of your classes \o/ ) The theme for this month is The New Pride as you will see play a role in the challenges below. To jump right on in, these are the instructions for the four areas:

    Caption Challenge: (Worth a maximum of 10 points; 5 points per caption. To get the full 10 points, you must submit a caption for each photo, or 2 captions for one photo. The caption can be pretty much anything.)

    Write a caption for the following images (does not have to fit the theme)

    Story Challenge: 250 words minimum, worth a maximum of 10 points. You must write, at least, 250 words of a story to get credit for this challenge. There is no maximum. The more the merrier.

    Write a short story on your experience in "a new pride." This could be about when you joined HOL, your first experience going to real school, or some experience unrelated to school (like a new job, joining a new club, or going to prom) - anything that is a new experience to you will do! This story can be something you actually experienced, or something completely made up, so have fun with it!

    Poetry Challenge: Worth a maximum of 10 points; 5 points per poem. To get the full 10 points, you must submit 2 poems that are, at least, 10 lines each, or 1 massive poem equalling 20 lines. Can be free lance poetry, haikus, etc.

    Write a poem on your experience in "a new pride." This could be about when you joined HOL, your first experience going to real school, or some experience unrelated to school (like a new job, joining a new club, or going to prom) - anything that is a new experience to you will do! This story can be something you actually experienced, or something completely made up, so have fun with it!

    Art Challenge: (newly reinstated!) Worth a maximum of 10 points; most pieces of artwork will be worth 10 points unless an image is deemed of very poor quality or stolen. If you are unsure if your work is good enough to be worth 10 points, you can send it in early and ask, contact someone from the Paw Print using our contact page, through a PM, or on IRC, or submit two pieces.

    Create a graphic, drawing, painting, photograph, or some other piece of visual media depicting your experience in "a new pride." This could be about when you joined HOL, your first experience going to real school, or some experience unrelated to school (like a new job, joining a new club, or going to prom) - anything that is a new experience to you will do! This story can be something you actually experienced, or something completely made up, so have fun with it!

    All Prose and Cons submissions must be turned in by June 21st at 11:59PM HOL time.

    2. Subject must be: HOL ID - July Challenge (specify challenge(s) in the message)

    3. Include in the body: Your HOL name, HOL ID, and House

    You may email the entries in separately or all together.

    Please make sure your caption links work and they're direct links. We had only a couple issues with links that failed to work in the past.

    Hello again everyone! First and foremost I want to thank everyone that helped out with our first Paw Print in a while! It definitely wouldn't have come together without everyone that submitted or helped with ideas, or anything along those lines so a major THANK-YOU to all of you!     Explore all that it has to offer aaaand if you feel so inspired - use it for ideas for this next issue of the Paw Print! That's right, we will be collecting, columns, articles, graphics, puzzles, riddles, art work, poetry, fiction - aaaanything you so desire to submit up through June 21st at 11:59pm HOL time. No late work will be accepted because points for the house cup are due June 23rd so if you are looking for last minute points for the term this is deeeefinitely the way to do it! (And I believe most class work is due before the 21st so hopefully it doesn't clash with your finals too much!

    So check it out and definitely submit whatever you come up with to the Paw Print as soon as you can to theGryffPawPrint@gmail.com!

    For a quick points breakdown you get:

    Article/Interview/Poll (Must be written up and have introduction): 10 points per published submission (maximum 20 pts.)

    Art: 5-10 points per published submission (maximum 20 pts.)

    Fiction/Poetry/Recipe: 5-10 points per published submission (maximum 20 pts.)

    So that means you can earn a total of 60 more points for the term if you submit across the board! There will also be another opportunity for points in the Prose & Cons section of the paper coming tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

    Not only are we looking for submissions for this month's Paw Print, but if you are interested in being on the Paw Print Staff, then check out this page! We are really looking for Gryffindor students that want to help out in any way possible - so if any of those options sound cool to you, we'd love to have you!     And just as a final note - the theme for this month's Paw Print will be "The New Pride." As everyone knows, Gryffindor gets by far the greatest newbies so we want this issue to be a real welcome to them as HOL signups start on July 15th. You absolutely do not have to come up with a submission that related to the theme, but we'll send you extra cookies and snacks and nutella aaaaand even some of this ice cream:
