The Upsides and Downsides of Eating Chocolate

A lot of children love to eat chocolate but they don’t know that it can also be bad for their health. There are in fact a lot of advantages and disadvantages to eating chocolate.

Disadvantages of eating chocolate are:

1. It lacks vitamins and minerals which are very important for our health. Often a lot of  people eat chocolates as their snacks rather than eating healthy food. They don’t realise that chocolates do not contain vitamins and minerals which our body needs to keep us healthy.

2. It also causes cavities in our teeth. These mainly happen due to eating a lot of sugar.

3. It has high sugar content which can also be very bad for our health. A chocolate I found has 22.66 grams of sugar in it.

4. It has a lot of calories in it. Many chocolate bars contain 235 calories or more. High calorie food can lead to obesity.

Advantages of eating chocolates:

1. Dark chocolate reduces the risk of heart disease.

2. Dark chocolate can also improve the functioning of the brain.

3. It is also a powerful source of antioxidants.

Even though there are advantages of eating chocolate, that doesn’t mean we can eat chocolate all the time because of the disadvantages. So, I conclude by saying that it is okay to eat chocolate once in a while but not all the time.
