Welcome everyone! Whether you like to write, read, make puzzles, cook, gossip, play sports, listen to music, or anything of your own, this is the place for you! The Paw Print is Gryffindor's very own newspaper that features all of those things and more and you can check it out here!

To give a bit of background, each house has their own newspaper (and you can submit to all of them) as well as an inter-house newspaper called the Hogsmeade Herald. This can seem a bit confusing, but it's just a way to try to get as many people active an involved as possible! Each paper has their own criteria and interests in what gets posted and what doesn't get published, but in Gryffindor we're pretty much open for as wide of a range of articles and submissions as possible! As long as your submissions is well written and HOL appropriate, we are very interested in publishing your work! So to give a (hopefully) short breakdown of the different areas of the Paw Print that might be of interest to you:

News: This can be HOL News, Gryffindor News, or Other News (like something going on in the Muggle world (Olympics!) or a recent sighting of a Crumple Horned Snorkack!).
Living: This would be anything related to Housing (like a new dorm mate), Living (Check out Destri's How To column!), or various recipes for the Cooking section!
Entertain: This section features all of our columns or articles or submissions regarding Music, Movies, Theater, Plays, and Gaming! If any of those areas interest you, check it out. ^^
Gossip: By far one of the most popular areas of the Paw Print - featuring articles such as Dear Snape and our Tea Leaves and Talons (you never know what might be in store for you there!) - it has some of the best news from around the HOL halls!
Sport: This area is for Quidditch and any other outside sports that you might find interesting! (Again, Olympics if this applies to you!) So feel free to write articles about whatever may be of interest in a competitive sort for you!
Create: This is our area for if you like to write stories, poetry, or create your own art! If you have old stories or poems or drawings that you have at home but never published (or used for HOL points!) they can be sent in here to earn points for these!
Advertising: Do you have a club or activity that you would like to feature? Get it up in here! Also we accept classifieds so if you are interested in a new pet lion cub to have follow you around or something entirely less serious, you can put that up as well!
Challenges: The last major section of the Paw Print features our monthly challenges! If you have submitted to the other areas but are also looking for a different way to earn points you can do these! This area also includes our riddles and puzzles, so check those out if you are interested!

So noooow that you have an idea of what is included in our paper - if you would like to submit, check out this page! Also the breakdown for the points and how many you can earn (in general, you get 10 points for every submission, but that is not always true!) look here. If you have an idea that doesn't specifically fall under one these sections, do not feel like you cannot submit it - we are always open to new ideas and suggestions! The new school term is here! Which means gone with the old and back with the new! Or well that depends we could also stay with the old and just add the new ;) And this obviously results in accepting articles and other submissions for the September Paw Print Issue!

To fit with all the New and Old stuff going on the theme for September will be New Meets Old! So try to think about anything that can fit this theme. You could write about an old movie that’s been made into a new movie. Or an old book that you read or an amazing amusement park were you went for the first time (or a second, or a third, etc)
But besides that September also means the beginning of a new school year! So anything related to school is also an option to submit to! Like school pranks, books you should read. But of course you can also submit something that has nothing to do with the theme! You know a yummy recipe? SUBMIT! You saw a good anime, movie or read a good book and have a review of it? SUBMIT! Don’t feel limited at all!

And are you really not the kind of person that can write an article? You can always go to our Challenge page and do the challenges that are seen over there and earn some beans with it!
 

All submissions will be due September 8th at 11:59 PM HOL time, so make sure you have your submissions in by then!

After an amazing grand start with Gryffindor’s Local Newspaper, The Paw Print, a new issue is bound to be released! Which means Fumei gently tries to persuade all of you to submit to Gryffindor’s amazing newspaper. (If she will succeed, is the question. But it’s been said that she would bribe those with a good cup of coffee.)

But let’s skip the twiddle twaddle part. October is the month of Halloween, Gryfftoberfest, fashion, falling leaves and pretty colours. Well at least Fumei finds the colours pretty!

All in all there is a lot going on when we are talking about October! Too much to say or think about so let’s keep the theme simple and easy, which means during this issue I want to see lots of Apples Halloween! This means you can write about everything you want to. That can horror movies, Halloween movies (wait ain’t those horror?), Apples, Gryfftoberfest (since the amazing Lions infuse Octoberfest with Halloween ), cookies, recipes, reviews and scary stuff! All in all you can write, craft, design, etc. about all kind of things!! So don’t be afraid and don’t feel limited with your ideas! Not sure about your idea? Don’t be afraid to bug Fumei Shirokuro. She won’t bite, at least nibble on you for a bit.
 

Also want to earn some lovely rubies for your Den (or yourself)? Then this is your place to be! By submitting articles and graphics you will earn rubies! And you can submit as much as you want! No limit! Best way to earn those shiny things!

 

And you don’t have the time to submit for the Paw Print? There is also our monthly Challenge! Which let you earn easy points as well!

Halloween is over, and I bet everyone is filling themselves with all those yummy sweets they were able to collect during Halloween day. It also means that it’s time for a new Issue for the Paw Print. Even though I love Halloween and the scariness I tried to create, we need to move on!

 

While I would love to make this issue all about moustaches, I think no one is interested in that. Since November stands for Thanksgiving, eating, and lots more, this month's theme will be Let’s Get Stuffed! If you have wonderful recipes, stuffed animals, stories featuring scarecrows, and stuffed animals (or even moustaches), feel free to send it in! Of course, you can also submit something completely unrelated, like moustaches; that is perfectly fine as well!

Submissions will be due Saturday, November 23th, at 11:59 PM HOL time.

Submit to the Paw Print!

Yes the Paw Print is almost released from its new alien friends! But to be able to release a new issue we need your help! Submit now to the Paw Print. There are different ways to submit something!

Send in your articles, recipes, reviews, graphics, pictures, puzzles or other things to theGryffPawPrint[at]gmail.com before October 26th! And be able to earn 50 (delicious looking) House Points! 

 

And if you don’t have any inspiration for something like that you can always submit one of the challenges! Write or make something artistic about how the Paw Print (and Fumei) survived their abduction!
