It is that time of the month again! Time to bring the butterbeer and cheesecake and sit down in a comfy chair! That's right, it is house meeting time! OMG WHY IS THE COMMON ROOM PURPLE!?! Maybe people got a little -TOO- crazy during this year's Gryfftober... Or perhaps Humphrey is up to his old tricks? No? OH RIGHT. IT IS MISSA'S BIRTHDAY!!! Everything of mine has a name. Usually a shortening of the technical name, but sometimes I get creative. ;) My computer is simply named Compy. Occasionally I call it Lappy, but I prefer Compy. It's great to use in conversations. ^__^ My external hard drive is named Akanishi. Because, well, I lurve Jin Akanishi (a Japanese singer/idol) and the Aka in Akanishi means 'red'. So when I got my red hard drive, of course it was easy to name it Akanishi. ^__^ My next one will be green and called Kame-chan. ^___^

I'm from Wisconsin, USA, known for it's cheese, beer, and sausage. (Yes, we're pretty awesome. ;) ) We're fairly small, but the people here are great. ^__^ Oh, and our state song is the POLKA. How much more awesome can you get? Oh wait, we also have a state bacteria. Lactobacillus (from milk and yogurt and things). First state to do that. We rock. :P Currently, however, I'm residing in Tokyo, Japan. (The prefecture, not the city. ;) ) It's huuuuuuge, let me just say that. And freakin' awesome. The food is amazing and Missa is very jealous that I eat gyoza regularly. (Come viiiiisit, Missa. <3)

I've got one more year of school! Yaye, almost done. >_< Anyways, I'm majoring in Microbiology and Japanese. I'm currently spending a year in Japan, so I'm taking an Intensive Japanese language class and then 2 Japanese literature classes, one pre-modern and one Modern. Modern is by far my favorite course this semester. I do miss taking the science classes though... Oh well. :)

If you could interview any character from the story and ask them 3 questions, what would those questions be? Why do you want to know those questions? Now, if this applies to your questions, imagine that they answered them truthfully. What might their response be? Feel free to speculate. This was just a random thought I had after wondering if Dumbledore's most desired thing was really a pair of socks. I imagine his greatest desire was something more of a grand scale, like winning the war and securing peace, or that he see his family again. But then again, he lived a long and fulfilling life, so maybe he came to terms with a lot of things in his past and learned the lesson of looking at one day at a time. Or maybe his feet were just really, really cold.

I have a weird group of favorites compared to most on this list. But here they are, split into Japanese and English. English: -Better Than Ezra -- Seriously, if you have not listened to them, give them a try. 'Absolutely Still,' 'Lifetime' and 'Our Last Night' are my favorite songs. -O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) -- Check out their live stuff. It's awesome. I've seen them live a few times now! <33 'That was a crazy game of poker' and '3 AM' are awesome~ -Rajaton -- 'Butterfly' is insanely pretty. As is some of their non-English stuff, but I can't understand it so lol. Japanese: -KAT-TUN -- I fangirl them. Seriously. They are <333 'Don't U Ever Stop' and 'Crazy Love' and 'D-Motion' are probably my favorites. But it's a hard choice. -Akanishi Jin -- Used to be part of KAT-TUN but now he's solo. Sad day. But I ADORE him and his voice. 'Murasaki' and 'Eternal' and 'Care' are beautiful and in Japanese. He also does English! (Well, too!) 'Wonder' and 'Yellow Gold' are <33. -NEWS - Missa can agree, lol. I love their bubbly-ness. -Utada Hikaru -- She's got an amazing voice. -Otsuka Ai -- Another one with a pretty voice. I adore 'Planetarium'

Are you an avid Graphic maker? Or do you enjoy looking at the shiny things others make? Want to help run a club dedicated to sharing ideas, tips and graphics? Then this application is for you. :P The Gryffindor Staff are looking to open a new area of the forum for the Graphics Club. We're looking for 2-3 dedicated and hard-working people to set up and lead the club. This includes developing the rules, sub-areas, etc. You'll be working together to brainstorm and then will lead it through the year. Since this area doesn't exist yet, we need individuals who are motivated, creative, and willing to stick this this for the long-term. If this is you, definitely apply! This is a graphics club, so we would prefer if the leaders had graphic experience. The more the better. This would help greatly with some of the ideas the staff had, which you can find below. However, we're willing to consider choosing a person as a leader who does not have graphics experience but who displays leadership qualities, interesting ideas, lots of enthusiasm and a love of graphics/artwork. To give you a general feeling for the club to see if you are interested, here are a few of our ideas. While it will be mostly left up to the leaders, we'd like to see some things in this club such as tutorials or tips on how to do graphics, an area for anyone to show off their graphics, and a requests area (whether these can be filled by anyone in the house, just the leaders, or a team you'll create applications for, is completely up to you). *waves* So I'm curious. What's everyone's favorite HP book? Why? Personally, my favorite has always been HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. We meet fantastic new characters like Sirius and Remus, and the plot just completely surprised me. With the first two books, I had an idea of what direction it would go in, but the third one was just completely out of left field for me. Plus I think the time-turner is sooo cool. As much as I love the later books in the series, though, there was just something about this book. The feeling it gives me when I read it. ^__^ Now, how about all of you?

Ahh, the Gryffindor House Awards. The name itself brings a hush over any crowd, since it is everyone biggest, deepest desire to own one of these. (Except Molly. She might want Prof. Snape more. But she's weird. <3) These awards are shiny, sparkle in the sun, and give a melodious ring when you tap them with your wand. As such, they can only be given to the most deserving students. But out of so many fantastic students, how will we ever pick the best? The task seems almost too daunting to fathom. Well, that's where the Lion's Pride Awards Committee comes into the picture. The Lion's Pride Awards Committee is the group of staff and students responsible for nominating and giving out Gryffindor's prestigious House Awards. As a member of the Lion's Pride Award Committee you would be responsible for keeping an eye out for things such as promising students, enthusiastic new first years, exceedingly helpful staff, and friendly students from other house, just to name a few. Each month committee members make their nominations, discuss, and then vote. Another year has come to a end. It was a great year, full of many wonderful memories, new friends, and tons of fun! Soooo it's that time again to bring back one of my FAVORITE Gryffindor traditions: End of the Year Awards!! This is a fun sort of activity that lets all of YOU give out awards. For whatever you want.
