  2. I hesitated to walk into the clearing, because there were tracks of a creature unfamiliar to me crossing the path. I glanced around, cautiously, and saw ...

  8. Thank you all for the fun time! Pirates! ARG! Gif shows a pirate peering at something, appearing confused. tTen he stands, looking. Then he 'ack' and flees, exit stage left.
  9. Graphic shows an island, looking to be of mostly rock, risen out of the blue waters. What is visible of the island has a sandy beach extending from the base of the rock of the island to the blue ocean water. A possible way to hike to the interior of the island is to the left, rising steeply up from the sand.
  10. Log of Exploration We finally land on this island, out in the middle of Nowhere. We are in hopes that the treasure we seek is here ... It's a large island, and it has hills and hidden places. We start to explore. I decided to look towards the interior, on the other side of the craggy hill which appears to be covered with all kinds of plants and strange rocks. Topping the hill, I gaze downwards and there is ... nothing special to see directly in front of me. however, I cast my glance to the right and left. To the left, there is something very hopeful to me. There is a cluster of lush plants and there are some birds flying around the tops of trees. I make my way down the hill and gradually wind my footsteps towards the raucously calling birds. As I am close, I start to smile. Yes, I smell the scent of damp ground. This might be what we need! I break into a trot, eager to see if I am correct. I chance upon a path, which startles me. Why would there be a path here? Who has made it? The path leads towards my goal, though, so I follow it. Around the bend of a smallish hillock, I halt and gaze, enchanted. Yes, there is the pool. We were in dire need of fresh water, we were almost out. But even more enchanting, to me, was the sight of the winged horses. Pure white, lovely and brilliantly glossy with health. A small herd appears to call this island home, or at least one of their homes, as they wander the skies. What a treasure I have found.
  11. I think that the wizarding pirates would look much like the Muggle pirates. After all, there is practical garb to wear on a ship. Trews and shirt are much more practical than robes. I think that they would have some weather and water proofing spells, so their garb, even if of the same materials and cut, would look more pristine at all times. Instead of a cutlass attached to their belt, or baldric, you might see a sheath for a wand next to the dagger sheath. I think that the wizards would, however, wear shoes or boots which are waterproof and with soles that grip the wood of the deck. Hair would be tied back or short, because the wind would be always messing it up. Hats or headscarves would be about the same, too. Hey, it looks nifty to be wearing that tricorn hat with a scarf under it (and it helps to keep the head warm, too).
  12. Surprise the pirates. These are five different things which might surprise them ... Offer them comfy chairs in which to sit. - The chairs, when sat in, produce instant ties around the arms and legs. Offer them tea - make sure you offer both black and green tea. (If you have any Lapsang souchong that would be a special treat.) - This might calm them down, especially if laced with sleeping potion. Offer them biscuits. (Americans call them cookies) - These are infused with a delayed action chili powder which starts when they have been swallowed. The fire in the belly will distract the pirates. Offer them a pedicure. - If accepted, instantly evoke the tickling charm. Offer them a facial. - If accepted, the chameleon spell, applied with fingertips, appears to turn their faces into pig heads (or anything which will invoke surprise on the parts of the other pirates, so you can take them by surprise as they laugh at each other). Also - any or all of these just might taken them so aback that they pause, and in that time of pause, we can stupefy them.
  13. First off, I didn't get to the ocean floor because I wasn't wearing a tank. However, I do have my mask and was able to go about 10 -15 feet down (and sometimes a little deeper) and still see stuff. I think the most wonderful thing was to watch the shoals of fish as they swam in their clusters and would turn and spin on a dime (as the saying is). I was actually beneath them once when they were doing this and the sunlight on their bodies was incredibly beautiful as it shifted and shone with all the colors of the rainbow. Even though I didn't get close to them, I could see that some people were down there (with their scuba tanks giving them lovely air) and there seemed to be some excited waving of arms and pointing. When I surfaced for more air I moved positions and went back down almost directly over where the action seemed to be. Someone was picking up things off the sand, and putting them in a bucket or container of some kind. I couldn't tell what it was but thought maybe it was small, like coins. I look forward to seeing what they bring up!
