Since we lost everything in the transfer of the forum, please follow the directions below in order to register for the forum, because we are very, very picky people. Read this, so you don't have to try and register more than once.

Gryffindor Common Room Registration

Please follow the steps below, and pay attention, because we actually give you help with the information.

Step one:
Click the register button up at the top right hand side of the forum. It will direct you to a new page. Please click the box that says "I have read, understood and agree to these rules and conditions" so that a checkmark appears before clicking the "Continue Registration" button.

If you've registered with us before, you know how this works. Unfortunately, we lost all the information, so everyone must go through this process again.

You will be taking to a page that has the following, but has more wordiness:
Account Information:
Username
Display name
-----------
Email address
re-enter email address
-----------
Choose password
re-nter password
-----------
(Board Options)
blah, blah
-----------
Den name
HOL ID
-----------
verify you are human
(aka, insert code, yo)


Here is how you fill out the above information.

Step Two:
Both your username and your display name must match your HOL name. You must use a space between the first and last name, and you must use proper capitalization. If you don't do all of the above, your registration will happily be deleted. So, here's an example based on my old HOL information as a student.

missa09 ---> WRONG
missa_matz ---> WRONG
mi092 ---> WRONG
missaMatz ---> WRONG
Missa Matz ---> RIGHT

Again, if you don't get it right, you will get deleted. If I have to delete your registration more than 5 times, I will ban your IP address from the board because you obviously can't read and won't be able to understand the topics on the board anyways.

Step Three:
In the email address field, please make sure to enter the email address that matches the email address in your HOL profile. I check these before I validate your registration, and if they don't match EXACTLY, I delete you. If you have changed your email address and it is different than your HOL profile email address, then you must go and change that one FIRST, then sign up for this forum. Again, if it doesn't match I will delete your registration.

Step Four:
You can choose any password you want, but it would be best if it is one that you can remember, because I sure won't know it. If you forget your password at any time there is a 'forgot password' link located on the sign in page. Click that link and hope you haven't changed your email address without changing it on the forum.

Step Five:
For your board options, I don't really care what you choose. If you are part of Gryffindor, please checkmark the Receive email from adminstration, so you can get our monthly Owl Post letters. If you want to keep your email private, and not receive email from other members of the forum, leave that box blank. For timezone, just find your timezone or something close, or leave as is for HOL time.

Step Six:
You must fill in the Additional Information section or your registration will not go through. Please read the following list to know what to put as your den name:
* Visitors (other houses): Put your House and Guest. For example:
Hufflepuff Guest
* Gryffindor: If you know your den, enter it. If you don't, but Gryffindor. It will be edited later.

Please put in your HOL ID when you register. Again if you don't, the registration will not go through.

Step Seven:
Ah, the lovely "verify you are a human" section. Insert what you see as the code, it is case sensitive. If you have poor vision, there is an audio challenge instead.

Once you fill in all the info, click the register button and you will be added to the validation queue.

Additional Information:
Because the board is new and we are trying to work out a few kinks, it may go offline from time to time. Just be patient as it shouldn't stay that way for more than a day at a time.

Also, it will possibly take between 3 and 7 days days (currently) for your registration to be approved. If you are unsure how to tell if you are approved or not, please visit the 2009/2010 Approved/Unapproved topic in the Q&A section.
